Our Programs
At Ashake Foundation, everything we do is built on one belief: every woman, girl, and child deserves the chance to live with dignity, security, and hope for the future.
Widows and underserved families are often left at the margins of society—struggling to afford school fees, access basic needs, or break free from poverty. That’s why our programs are designed not just to provide short-term relief, but to open doors to long-term opportunities.
Through education, skills, financial empowerment, and social support, we help women and children rebuild their lives and create brighter futures.
Back to School Project
Education is one of the strongest tools to break the cycle of poverty. Yet, too many children of widows are forced to drop out of school due to financial hardship.
Our Back to School Project ensures that these children stay in classrooms and keep chasing their dreams by providing:
Scholarships and school fee support for children at risk of dropping out
Uniforms, bags, and writing materials so they can learn with dignity
Textbook donations and library support to enrich their learning environment
Impact so far: Over 6,000 educational materials distributed and 683 pupils supported through library renovation and direct interventions.
Adopt a Widow Initiative
Widows are often left vulnerable—facing financial struggles, social stigma, and the heavy burden of caring for their families alone. Our Adopt a Widow Initiative restores dignity and independence by providing:
Business startup support to help them launch small enterprises
Accommodation aid for those struggling with shelter
Scholarships for their children to ensure education continues uninterrupted
Impact so far: Thousands of widows have received life-changing support, helping them regain stability and hope.
Ashake Skill & Knowledge Acquisition Program (ASKAP)
True empowerment comes from equipping women with the skills to earn and sustain an income. ASKAP is our hands-on training initiative where women and girls learn practical skills such as:
Adire tie & dye, bag making, wig making
Pastry and baking
Soap, detergent, and cleaning product production
Fashion design, tailoring, and digital skills
Impact so far: Over 800 women trained, with many now running successful small businesses that sustain their households.
Entrepreneurship & Business Support
Skills alone are not enough—business knowledge is key to long-term success. That’s why we go further by offering business and entrepreneurship support through:
Marketing and sales strategies for growth
Branding and packaging techniques to attract customers
Financial literacy and management training to keep businesses profitable
Customer service training and value chain development for sustainability
This ensures our women are not just skilled, but also competitive and business-savvy.
Microcredit Support
ccess to finance is one of the biggest barriers for widows and women entrepreneurs. Our microcredit scheme bridges this gap with interest-free or low-interest loans ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦50,000.
No collateral required
Quick processing within 3–5 days
Designed specifically for women who have completed our training
This support allows women to start or scale their businesses without falling into debt traps.
Essential Support Packages
We recognize that beyond empowerment, urgent needs sometimes arise. Through our welfare packages, we provide immediate relief for families in crisis:
“Christmas in a Goodybag” – our annual celebration where widows and their children receive food, gifts, and share in festive joy
Emergency food and essentials distribution – especially during crises like the COVID-19 lockdown, when many families faced hunger and uncertainty
These packages restore hope and remind vulnerable families that they are not alone.
Community Changemakers Initiative
We believe in raising the next generation of female leaders. Through this program, we inspire teenage girls to dream big, lead with confidence, and make a difference in their communities.
We provide:
Leadership and self-esteem training to build courage and resilience
Menstrual hygiene education and dignity kits to promote health and confidence
Vision board and community impact projects to help them shape their future and give back
Impact so far: Over 1,500 girls supplied with sanitary kits and engaged in leadership sessions that inspire lifelong change.
Yard Sale Fundraiser
Sustainability meets compassion in our yard sale program. We collect donated items such as clothes, shoes, toys, books, and household appliances, then organize community yard sales.
Proceeds directly fund school supplies and children’s needs
Promotes reuse and recycling to reduce waste and support eco-friendly living
It’s a simple but powerful way to turn surplus into support for those in need.
